“Communing With Clay has always been about more than just clay. It is the people, the friendships, the connections, the experiences that last the entire year. It has kept me coming back for 16 years.”

Creativity is at the root of all that awes and astonishes us. It is in a fiddle made from a piece of wood; a man landing on the moon; a garden of fresh vegetables on the roof of a skyscraper; or a simple bowl made from a handful of soft clay.

Along with exploring basic and advanced techniques for "throwing" and altering pots on the wheel, we will draw upon your personal creative instincts to begin to explore the inexhaustible possibilities inherent in clay.

Demonstrations of altering shape and surface to freshly thrown pots will include cutting, paddling, squaring, fluting and other experimental approaches. Methods for trimming, pulling handles, making lids and other off-wheel skills will be presented.

The workshop will offer an opportunity to grow as a potter, and hopefully will awaken a sense self-discovery and a strengthened connection to earth and others.

Workshop fee $450
